Crane Operator Classes Kelowna

Crane Operator Classes Kelowna

Crane Operator Classes Kelowna - Crane operator training is for supervisors and operators of overhead lifting machine. The course is suitable for both current and new operators. Course content addresses applicable federal, provincial and state safety regulations. The first component of training comprises complete in-class instruction and test. After that is a hands-on customized session with practical instruction and evaluation.

The content of the course applies to all categories and types of overhead lifting crane machines. The instruction will specifically focus on all aspects of crane operation which can be done at the workplace of the trainee. Upon finishing the course, trainees will learn how to operate particular overhead lifting devices, attachments and related components efficiently and safely.

The operator course's objective is to first identify and potentially dangerous operator habits which could develop when an individual operates an overhead crane. Costly damage to equipment and products can be avoided with proper practices. Training reduces the likelihood of a workplace incident or injury happening.

The course would encompass around eight hours of classroom instruction with a couple of hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants are graded on their knowledge of training material via an assessment of their practical knowledge and written testing. The minimum acceptable score is 80%.

During the in-class session, participants would know applicable causes of occurrences and damages, guidelines and legislation, danger awareness, internal responsibility, basic equipment and design principles, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, safe hosting/operating techniques, pre-shift equipment inspections, types of hardware, equipment applications/rigging, angles and hitches, pedestrian/operator safety, flipping/turning loads safely, hand signals for operators and slingers.

The customized practical training and evaluation session must be pre-scheduled. It would be held at the trainees' facility following completion of the in-class session. The length of this practical training part is one to two hours. The instructor will train two operators at a time about skills such as safe operation, planning the lift and correct rigging practices.

After finishing both the in-class instruction and the practical training and evaluation, the trainee will be tested via an exam. Every participant will be required to sign the safety rules. Individual wallet certificates would be given to trainees who are successful. A framed wall certificate would be provided to the company.
